Metal Sales Brings Sustainability to Habitat Home

Customer Do it Best, Corp. invited Metal Sales to participate in a project with Habitat for Humanity of Fort Wayne, IN. Metal Sales supplied 4,400 square feet of 29 gauge Classic Rib panels in Burnished Slate for the roof and cladding. Fasteners, trim and accessories were also provided by Metal Sales to complete the sustainable home.

The architect took a modern design approach and strived to make the home as energy efficient as possible. “We used metal because it is a durable and sustainable material. It has a high recycled material content, is 100% recyclable and requires very little maintenance,” explains architect Adam Weesner. “The material was installed with a vented airspace behind it that contributes to energy savings because it cools the wall in the summer.”
