Case Study

Jewel Box Cabin

The Jewel Box Cabin is a 900sf modern cabin, nestled into the woods on Caribou Lake, MN. Sitting lightly on the land, the compact, sustainably designed cabin is not short on impactful living. At the entry, the wood firebox anchors the building’s cantilevered bedroom above. Hidden storage is strategically placed behind cedar panels for skis and other outdoor toys. The main living space with floor to ceiling windows provides views to the woods and Caribou Lake. Large windows and a large screen porch make indoor/outdoor living a reality for this tiny 900sf cabin. The exterior is highlighted by the low maintenance 7/8″ Corrugated metal siding which means more time enjoying the surroundings and less time maintaining the cabin.
